Associate Professor at the London School of Economics
Michael Callen is Associate Professor at the London School of Economics (LSE). Callen is Research Program Director, State Capabilities Program, at the International Growth Center, and an Editorial Board Member of the Review of Economic Studies, and the Journal of the European Economic Association. Before joining LSE, Callen was an assistant professor of economics and strategic management at the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School and an assistant professor of political science at UCLA. As a postdoc, Callen was a visiting faculty member at the Center for Effective Global Action at UC Berkeley and the UC Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation. He completed his PhD in economics at UC San Diego in 2011.
