Callista Chim

Callista Chim is a PhD candidate in Political Science and International Relations at the University of California, San Diego. Her research lies at the intersection of political economy, energy politics, and development, with a particular focus on the politics of infrastructure. She studies how large-scale energy infrastructure and public investment reshape domestic institutions and international cooperation over time. Her current work investigates how hydropower investments in Southeast Asia create durable forms of political dependence. Before pursuing her PhD, she earned a BA in Economics with a minor in Mathematics and a BA in International Affairs from the University of Nevada, Reno.
