Graeme Mack

2020-2021 Dissertation Fellow

Graeme Mack was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2020-2021. He is an American history instructor at the University of Richmond and James Madison University. His research explores the evolution of American commercial maritime imperialism, a process pursued by American merchants and U.S. officials working to control sailor populations and protect American property overseas—far beyond the national borders of the United States. He completed his Ph.D. dissertation, “Seaborne Sovereignties: Pacific Trade and the Evolution of American Commercial Maritime Imperialism, 1787-1848,” in the History Department at UC San Diego.
