Caleb Elfenbein

Caled Eldenbein was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2005-2006. He is an associate professor of history and religious studies at Grinnell College, where he also directs the Center for the Humanities. He is interested in anti-Muslim hostility and its effects on American Muslim participation in public life. His project explores state regulation of religion in the context of past and present efforts to modernize the Middle East.
