Eddie Yang is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at UC San Diego. He studies repression and the politics of artificial intelligence (AI). His dissertation examines how political institutions, such as censorship and propaganda, induce bias in AI and the implications of such bias for authoritarian politics. His work is motivated by normative concerns about freedom and justice. He received his M.A. from the University of Chicago and B.A. from UC Los Angeles.
