IGCC research director Emilie Hafner-Burton delivered the keynote address at the Democracy in Mexico conference, hosted by the Democracy in Mexico project, a consortium that includes the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies at UC San Diego, the Institute of Legal Research of the UNAM, the Departments of Political Science at UC Santa Barbara and UC Merced, and SIMO Consulting. Hafner-Burton, who leads IGCC’s Future of Democracy Initiative and is a professor in the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego, will deliver the keynote address, “The Importance of Measuring the Quality of Democratic Institutions from the Citizen Point of View.”
