Amanda Rizkallah is an Assistant Professor of International Studies in Seaver College at Pepperdine University. With a focus on the Middle East and North Africa, her research examines the political legacies of war, identity politics in weak states, and the role of civil society in post-war contexts. Her dissertation introduces a theory in which the dynamics of civil war shape post-war politics through the perpetuation of militia-based clientelist networks.
