Brandon Merrell

2017-2018 Dissertation Fellow

Brandon Merrell was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2017-2018. He is a professor at the University of Arkansas’ Clinton School of Public Service. His studies focus on how countries and international organizations can influence global development, inequality, and political violence. His dissertation introduces an alternative mechanism in which fully-informed, peace-loving leaders who endeavor to secure the best interests of their citizens nevertheless escalate wars for domestic reasons.
