Christopher Manes Bacon

Christopher Bacon was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2002-2003. Dr. Bacon is an associate professor in the Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences at Santa Clara University. As an environmental social scientist, he is interested in deepening and diversifying a dialogue about interdependent society-nature relationships. His dissertation poses an interdisciplinary approach to assess smallholders’ vulnerabilities and opportunities for sustainable rural development as the global coffee industry restructures.
