Igor Daniel Palhares Acacio
2020-2021 Dissertation Fellow
Igor Acacio was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2020-2021. He is an assistant professor in the Department of Politics, Administration, and Justice at California State University, Fullerton. In his dissertation, Igor investigated why Latin American democracies task their military with domestic policing missions. He argues that the impact of crime rates, citizens’ demands for protection, civilian control over the military, and military propensity to execute these missions affect the likelihood of these missions.
