Igor Daniel Palhares Acacio

Dissertation Fellow
UC Riverside

Igor Acacio is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Tulane University’s Center for Inter-American Policy and Research and a Hans J. Morgenthau Fellow at the Notre Dame International Security Center (NDISC). In his dissertation, investigated why Latin American democracies task their military with domestic policing missions. He argues that the impact of crime rates, citizens’ demands for protection, civilian control over the military, and military propensity to execute these missions affect the likelihood of these missions.
