Kyrstin Mallon Andrews

2019-2020 Dissertation Fellow

Kyrstin Mallon Andrews was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2019-2020. She is assistant professor of anthropology at Syracuse University. Her research focuses on medical and environmental anthropology, the Caribbean, maritime studies, fishing, multispecies, environmental governance, conservation, risk and injury, and the Dominican Republic. She received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine. Her dissertation analyzes the daily experiences and decisions of coastal communities who must navigate both climate change and restrictive conservation policies, contributing to efforts for more equitable environmental policy.
