Maya Duru
2015-2016 Dissertation Fellow
Maya Duru was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2015-2016. She is a fellow at the Office of Evaluation Sciences at the U.S. General Services Administration. Her expertise is in democracy and governance, social safety nets, agricultural economics, and nutrition. Using the case of the Component for the Attention of Natural Disasters weather insurance scheme in Mexico, her dissertation argues that the process of democratization has actually amplified the use of clientelistic practices.
