Setsuko Matsuzawa
2003-2004 Dissertation Fellow
Setsuko Matsuzawa was an IGCC Dissertation Fellow from 2003-2004. She is a professor and department chair of anthropology and sociology, and East Asian studies at the College of Wooster. Matsuzawa’s research interests include: Social Movements, Environmental Sociology, Development, Law, Transnational and Global Sociology, and East Asian Societies (China and Japan). Her primary research area is environmental activism in East Asia. Her dissertation addresses the question: How do INGOs spread ideas and practices regarding global environmental concerns in an authoritarian context?
