Wai Ka Kot is a Ph.D. candidate in anthropology at the University of California, Davis. Her research examines how digital technologies, migration, and political transformation reshape citizenship, governance, and everyday experiences of the state in Nepal. Drawing on long-term ethnographic fieldwork, she explores how young people and diasporic communities navigate changing political landscapes, with particular attention to the intersections of mobility, platform technologies, and democratic participation. Before pursuing her Ph.D., she earned a B.A. in social anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and an M.Sc. in global migration from University College London.
