Yujia Wan

Yujia Wan is a PhD candidate in political science with a minor in computational social science at the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on the application of game-theoretical models to war termination, diplomacy, and crisis negotiations, with an emphasis on bargaining and contract theory to understand transitions from war to peace. She also explores broader themes of great power competition, particularly the dynamics of U.S.-China relations. Before pursuing her PhD, she earned a BS in applied mathematics and finance from the Central University of Finance and Economics in China and an MA in international peace and conflict resolution from American University. She also gained professional experience at the Silk Road Fund, which is part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
