In 2014, IGCC continued to grow as a research institution, aligning its mission with emerging global challenges and UC priorities. Research and training focused on security, development, the environment and public health, with 18 events, two summer programs, and lectures serving over 1,000 participants.

Key programs included the tenth Public Policy and Nuclear Threats (PPNT) boot camp and the fifth Chinese security training under the SITC project. IGCC also hosted the 24th Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue and two major conferences on climate, disease, and human capital.
