An Evening with the New Editors of Current History

October 21, 2026
Washington, D.C.
Lady Bird Rooftop Bar (inside the Kimpton Banneker Hotel)

Join us Wednesday, October 21 from 5:30-7:30pm for an evening of conversation, connection, and ideas with the new editors of Current History, Lindsay Shingler and Stephan Haggard.

For more than a century, Current History has helped readers make sense of a rapidly changing world. First published as a supplement to The New York Times in 1914, the journal has long been a trusted forum for thoughtful analysis of global affairs and the forces shaping our future.

Now, Current History begins an exciting new chapter under an editorial team led by the University of California’s Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC). With a renewed commitment to bringing fresh voices and new perspectives to the most pressing issues of our time, the journal is expanding the conversation at a moment when informed, nuanced dialogue is needed more than ever.

Learn about the publication’s evolving vision, and engage with a community of readers and thinkers interested in global politics, economics, and international affairs as we celebrate the next chapter of one of America’s longest-running journals of international affairs.

This event is invitation only. To RSVP, please email Marie Thiveos Stewart at mthiveos@ucsd.edu.
