Climate Change and Democracy

Climate change and democratic erosion are two major challenges facing countries around the world, yet little is known about how these two phenomena interact. This IGCC research initiative, led by scholars at UC San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles, brings together experts from across disciplines to define and understand the problems, and to lay out an agenda for what needs to be done to protect democracy, engage the public, and strengthen environmental resilience in the face of an increasingly fractured and warming world.
